The PIAA has posted the brackets for the PIAA wrestling championships, which begin Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey. Check them out here. The PIAA has changed the way it releases the brackets to the public. Previously, the 14 pre-determined brackets were available for public view before the five regional tournaments were completed. But this year, the PIAA randomly assigned a weight class to each bracket in January, then sealed the brackets until this morning's seeding meeting. This was done to prevent wrestlers from scouting potential opponents or not giving a full effort at regionals to gain a perceived advantage at states Upcoming Events The Division II feature is Mar. 12-13 at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Cuvo, who was a three-time state champion at Easton Area High School and a two-time national champion at East Stroudsburg University, pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor theft and criminal mischief.
In addition to the probation, Northampton County Judge Paula A. Roscioli ordered Cuvo to pay $500 in fines and $2,789 in restitution, attend anger management classes, receive mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and submit to random urine tests.
Cuvo also pleaded guilty to summary public drunkenness, and Roscioli ordered he pay a $100 fine and court costs.
Cuvo, of Palmer Township, broke into his estranged wife’s Wilson Borough house July 18 because he wanted to see his dog, court records say.
Cuvo forced his way into the home in the 2200 block of Fairview Avenue through a rear window, tossed food and trash about the kitchen, damaged the home’s cable and telephone lines, damaged a gutter and tossed garbage into the backyard, records say.
Jennifer Cuvo applied for an emergency protection-from-abuse order July 23 at a district judge’s office, but did not apply for a permanent PFA with the county, court records say.
Cuvo’s lawyer, Paul Aaroe, and Assistant District Attorney Kelly Lewis could not be reached for comment. Kemerer to be released by Oklahoma http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive...d_by_okla.aspxOklahoma wrestling head coach Jack Spates said Wednesday the Sooners are in the process of releasing Jake Kemerer from his National Letter of Intent. Kemerer signed a commitment to wrestle at Oklahoma last spring before enrolling at Penn State. The Nittany Lion freshman and his family have been trying to get the release granted during the past months. Spates said he doesn't know when the release could be official, but he expects the matter to be resolved in the coming days. "It's a little different than just releasing someone from a scholarship," Spates said. "We put in for it, so it could be done now.
