Wyoming Seminary cruised to its fourth consecutive Pennsylvania Prep title behind eight individual victories at Westtown School in West Chester. Evan Botwin (103), Dom Malone (112), Simon Kitzis (135), Chris Moon (160), Jay Wieller (171), Matt Bilodeau (189), Ben Puza (215) and Mike McMullan each captured titles for the No. 5 ranked team in the country. McMullan, the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the country, took home the honor for Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament. In total, 13 Blue Knight wrestlers came away as place winners and will advance to the National Prep tournament next Friday and Saturday at Lehigh University. "We're really proud." Seminary coach John Gordon said. "Obviously, as a team, we were excited to get the eight individual titles. We thought about how we wanted to improve our performance and one of those ways was to get more guys to the top of podium." Gordon said the cheers during the championship bouts were either for or against Seminary. Many of the state's prep schools are located near the Philadelphia area. "We're happy that the center of PA Prep wrestling is still in Northeast Pennsylvania," Gordon said EXPORT PA – The Nittany Lions brought home the Collegiate State Championship to DuBois by defeating 5th ranked NCAA DIII Powerhouse Del Val this past weekend in the gym of Pennsylvania State runner up Williamson Trade. Both the Lions and the Tradesmen placed athletes at 6 of 11 weight classes to come away with a total of 80 and 66.5 points respectfully. Both teams besting Delaware Valley’s 65.5 3rd place points. Northampton College scored 62.5 to take 4th while the Penn State Club team placed 5th with 49 points. Five separate Colleges boasted Champions, Northampton with Champions at 125 & 157, Penn State at 133 & 184, Keystone College at 141, Del Val at 149, 165, 235 & 285 and Penn State Dubois at 197. Even with 4 Champions Del Val Could not hold off the well rounded teams fielded by Dubois and Williamson. Other schools with State placers included Lafayette and Slippery Rock College.
